GPT-6 for Marketing: Astra, Sol, Luna and AI Agents

GPT-6 for Marketing: Astra, Sol, Luna and AI Agents

In just four weeks, OpenAI reshuffled the artificial intelligence board. The rollout of GPT-6 Astra began on September 4, 2026, GPT-6 Sol and GPT-6 Luna arrived on September 23, and on September 30, at its DevDay, the company announced more than 20 new releases, including GPT-6.1 Sol and a new generation of agents. For marketers, the real question is not whether GPT-6 is smarter. It is what it can do today for your sales, your content and your team.

At Lumia MKT we have spent weeks testing these models on real workflows. Here is the no-hype version: what the GPT-6 family brings, which model fits each marketing task, and what you should do this quarter so you are not left in the dark.

What GPT-6 is and why everyone is talking about it

GPT-6 is not a single model. It is a family with three tiers built for different uses and budgets. The big difference from earlier generations is the jump in autonomy: the most powerful model can use a computer on its own, open programs, browse, fill out forms and complete multi-step tasks without someone approving every click.

According to launch reports, in demos GPT-6 Astra completed in about 10 minutes tasks that would take a person close to six hours, such as comparing lodging options or posting items for sale online. On top of that, every model in the family shares a context window of roughly one million tokens, enough to read brand guidelines, full product catalogs or months of customer conversations in one go.

GPT-6 Astra, Sol and Luna: which one to use for marketing

OpenAI sums up the strategy in one line: build with Sol, scale with Luna. Astra is reserved for the most demanding, autonomous work. Here is how that translates into a brand's day-to-day tasks:

ModelWhat to use it for in marketingAPI price (per million tokens)
GPT-6 AstraAgents that run end-to-end processes: competitor research, building reports, operating tools and long multi-step tasks.$10 input / $50 output
GPT-6 SolThe everyday workhorse: strategy, copywriting, scripts, campaign analysis and thoughtful customer replies.$2 input / $10 output
GPT-6 LunaLow-cost volume: lead scoring, tagging comments, ad variations and FAQ answers.$0.10 input / $0.50 output

Two facts that matter for your budget: GPT-6 Sol costs half as much as its predecessor, and GPT-6.1 Sol, announced at DevDay, offers capabilities close to Astra at one fifth of the price. In ChatGPT, paid plans have access to the GPT-6 family, and free users can use GPT-6 Luna in the desktop app. In other words, cutting-edge AI is no longer a luxury reserved for big companies.

AI agents arrive in marketing: from asking for things to delegating processes

The update that will change marketing teams' daily work the most is agents. At DevDay 2026, OpenAI introduced agents built on GPT-6 Astra that can take on ongoing responsibilities within limits the user defines, with cloud infrastructure, continuous learning and connections to the apps you already use.

Three more pieces arrived alongside them that are worth keeping on your radar:

  • ChatGPT Space: a collaborative workspace where people, AI and agents work from the same context and a unified file. Ideal for keeping your brief, brand voice and results in one place.
  • Sign in with ChatGPT: subscribers can use their account on 16 partner platforms, such as Notion or Vercel, without setting up technical integrations.
  • Native plugins: apps that live inside ChatGPT with interactive dashboards. Soon we will see ad platforms, CRMs and analytics tools operated from a single conversation.

For a brand, this means going from "write me a post" to "every Monday, review ad performance, spot the ads that are wearing out, propose three variations and have them ready for approval." That is exactly the territory of AI marketing automation: processes that run on their own and a person who makes the call.

5 ways to use GPT-6 in your digital marketing strategy right now

  1. Market research in hours, not weeks. An agent can review your competitors' websites, their active ads and their reviews, then hand you a map of opportunities. You validate and decide.
  2. Content at scale without losing your voice. With one million tokens of context, the model can read your entire brand guide and your best pieces before it writes. Paired with AI content creation, you produce more without sounding generic.
  3. Paid media that gets optimized every day. Luna can sort thousands of comments and search terms, and Sol can interpret your campaign data and suggest budget, audience and creative adjustments in your Google Ads and Meta ads.
  4. SEO for search engines and for AI assistants. More and more people ask ChatGPT before they ask Google. Your content needs to be structured so these models understand it and cite it. That is the new face of SEO services.
  5. Customer service that sells. A WhatsApp assistant trained on your catalog and policies answers instantly, qualifies the lead and only hands your team the conversations that are ready to close.

What nobody tells you: GPT-6 risks and limits

Not everything shines. GPT-6 Astra is the first OpenAI model rated at the highest cybersecurity risk level on its internal scale, and the company restricted some sensitive capabilities to specialized organizations. AI safety experts have also raised concerns because part of the model's reasoning is less visible than in previous versions.

For a business, the lesson is practical:

  • Set clear limits for your agents: what they can publish, spend or send without human approval.
  • Protect your customers' data: data-protection laws in your market (such as Colombia's Law 1581 of 2012 or US state privacy laws) still apply when the data is processed by AI.
  • Review before you publish: AI speeds things up, but responsibility for what your brand says is still yours.
  • Do not chase every launch: switching tools every month without a method only speeds up the chaos.

How to get ready: method before tools

After testing GPT-6, the takeaway is clear: the most powerful model in the world is not much use if it does not know who your customer is, what sets you apart and how you talk. AI multiplies what you already have. If your marketing is organized, it multiplies results. If it is messy, it multiplies the mess.

That is why at Lumia we work with the LUZ Method (LUZ means light in Spanish): first we Learn your business, then we Unify its intelligence into one brand brain that your team and models like GPT-6 can use, and only then do we Zero in on campaigns, content and agents with precision. Clarity first, speed second.
